1. Every Community Can Be Bike-Friendly. Hear from representatives of local communities and transportation planners about how to make your town better for biking and how the League’s Bike Friendly Community program can help. Speakers: Rob O’Connor, South Windsor Walk and Wheelways and South Windsor, Honorable Mention Bike Friendly Community; Pattie Smith Jacobus, Simsbury Free Ride and Simsbury, Bronze Bike Friendly Community; and Jackson Wandres, Director of Planning and Landscape Architecture, The RBA Group. Moderated by Kate Rattan, CT DOT, Non-Motorized Transportation Coordinator. 2. Bike Friendly America and Economic Development. Bike-friendly places are good for business. Speakers: Jeremy Castle, Manager, REI, West Hartford; Michael Piscitelli, New Haven Deputy Economic Development Administrator; and John Simone, Director, CT Main Street. Moderated by Bruce Donald, President, Farmington Valley Trails Council. 3. A BFC Should Be Walk-Friendly Too. Learn about Complete Streets and Safe Routes to School and how to include pedestrian-friendly measures in a bike-friendly plan. Speakers: Rep.
